McIlroy: Fans cost Tiger two shots per tourney
Mon, 19 Feb 2018 17:58:35 GMT
Tiger Woods is already behind the eight ball including his age, his many surgeries, rust and other factors in coming back to play on the PGA Tour. Rory McIlroy thought there something else that actually costs Woods strokes on his game: The crowds. Here's his take from the Genesis Open: "I swear, playing in front of all that, he gives up half a shot a day on the field. Like, it's two shots a tournament he has to give to the field because of all that that goes on around. So, whether that calms down the more he plays and it doesn't become such a novelty that he's back out playing again, because it's tiring. I need a couple Advil just to … I've got a headache after all that. "Just the whole thing.

Mon, 19 Feb 2018 06:43:00 GMT

Spieth struggled on the greens two weeks ago at TPC Scottsdale, but he began to right the ship at Pebble Beach and cracked the top 10 this week at the Genesis Open. Perhaps more important than his final spot on the leaderboard was his standing in the strokes gained putting category – 12th among the field at Riviera Country Club, including a 24-putt performance in the third round.
